Planning Your Trip

Traffic Concerns
We suggest being at our Weirs Beach ticket office (or other port docks) at least 15 to 30 minutes prior to departure time. We do our best to embark all our cruises in a timely manner, and do not “hold the ship” for latecomers. Traffic getting into the Lakes Region can be slow, especially on weekends and even more so on holidays. Please allow ample time to reach us, park and pick up tickets.

Weirs Beach offers a boardwalk along the lakefront dotted with benches to sit and enjoy the view while waiting for the ship to arrive. For the 10 AM cruise we start boarding passengers up to 45 minutes before departure. Getting there early is a smart thing to do.

Parking
The metered parking at Weirs Beach is administered by the city of Laconia. Mount Washington Cruises has no authority over the meters. For any of our cruises, the two hour meters located at the north end of the boardwalk (on both sides) do not give you enough time. You will need to park at a five hour meter, or in the Tower Street parking lot (fees apply at certain times). For those passengers taking a 10 AM cruise, getting off in Wolfeboro and returning on the 1:45 PM cruise, you will have to park in the Tower Street lot, as even the five hour meters will not give you enough time.

The parking meters use quarters. It will save time to bring your own as the local businesses may not be able to help you out with change. (There is a change machine outside our ticket office if you forget.)
